More Than a Sound Bath: The Healing Power of Sacred Circle

Sound Healing Circle at Evolution Yoga &Wellness, Newington, CT-Last Friday of the month

There are sound healers, and then there are sound healers.

While many experiences are called "sound baths," no two circles are ever truly the same. The difference is not simply in the instruments being played. It lives in the intention, presence, and heart of the facilitator.

As a sound healer, my intention has never been to tell people what they need, fix them, or direct their healing. I believe that each person already carries profound inner wisdom. My role is simply to create a safe, sacred space where that wisdom can emerge.

At the beginning of every circle, we begin with stillness.

Through meditation, participants are invited to turn inward and listen to themselves. Rather than receiving an intention from me, each person is encouraged to set their own intention for the experience. This is important because true healing is deeply personal. What one person needs may be entirely different from what another needs.

Some come seeking peace. Others arrive carrying grief, uncertainty, exhaustion, or longing for clarity. Some simply know that something within them is calling for attention.

The sound journey then becomes an invitation—a space where emotions, insights, memories, sensations, and healing can naturally rise to the surface in exactly the way they are meant to.

One of the most beautiful aspects of circle is witnessing the collective energy that emerges.

Again and again, I have observed that people who gather together often share a common thread. Even strangers frequently discover that they are navigating similar themes, life transitions, or emotional landscapes. I often feel that the Universe, God, Spirit—whatever you choose to call it—is gently bringing together exactly the people who are meant to sit in circle together.

There is something profoundly healing about realizing that you are not alone in what you are carrying. In many ways, the circle itself becomes part of the medicine.

At the close of each gathering, we pull oracle cards. Time and time again, participants are amazed by how closely the messages reflect their intentions, experiences, or the insights they received during the sound journey. The cards often feel like a loving punctuation mark—a final affirmation of what was already unfolding within.

This is why I love sound healing.

Not because it offers quick answers or fixes, but because it creates space.

Space to listen.

Space to remember.

Space to receive exactly what your soul has been asking for.

If you have been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply longing for a moment to come home to yourself, I invite you to join us in circle. You may be surprised by what emerges when you give yourself permission to simply receive.

Healing happens in community. And often, the people sitting beside us are part of the medicine.
